Hello!
I'm Kerynn (pronounced like Corinne or 'kur-inn') and I am a 24-year-old mother and doula. I was born and raised in Sacramento, California and am married to my husband, Galen, who I share a 2 beautiful children with. I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula through International Doula Institute (IDI) as well as a Lactation Consultant Assistant.
About Me
After the pregnancy and birth of my son, Cayden, I became very passionate about women's health issues, especially in regard to all things pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My first birth experience left me reeling, and I realized how important and transformative this time of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum was for new mothers. I began seeing the gaps in how our society cares for it's mothers, and how the idea of "it takes a village" is nearly impossible for many people. After discovering the world of holistic birth, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. Though I was pursuing a degree in Nursing, I found my calling to the childbirth profession, and I decided to do a complete 180. I switched my goal from RN to Licensed Midwife.

Becoming a Certified Doula was the first step in doing what I am passionate about, and working directly in the field with new parents throughout this period is exactly where I want to be. Once I began working as a doula, I fell even more in love with the supportive side of birth and I hope to continue working in this profession long into the future.
My passion for childbirth, as well as my overall love of learning, motivates me to keep up with all of the latest information and studies about birth. Education also has a very special place in my heart and I thrive on spreading awareness, teaching and supporting other people through life's many seasons. I dabble in many things such as herbalism, nutrition, Ayurveda and other holistic practices, which influence my doula practice and outlook on caring for mothers and birthing people as well. In my downtime, I love to play around with photography, spend time with my family, or walk around our neighborhood. Occasionally, I find time for a DIY art project like painting or macramé.
Interacting with people on a deeper level and sharing a connection with others is very important to me. These skills transfer in my work as a doula, as establishing interpersonal connection and trust with a client is one of the most important skills. I truly believe everyone is deserving of compassionate care and support- no matter your background, gender, color, religion, etc. I stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community and believe Black Lives Matter.
I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you and your family!
Warmly,
Kerynn
